This week we wrap up the Blast Off to Space theme by “exploring space.” We learned about space food and the Greek roots of the word “astronaut.”
This month’s “Would You Rather” questions sparked some interesting conversation! Although the boys weren’t satisfied with the options given and ended up making up some of their own. Booger decided that Venus was his favorite planet, so he stuck that answer in whenever he could!
The boys made astronaut puppets with a paper bag, a paper plate, and a piece of blue cellophane. Money took so much care in creating his. He even made up a story for what each button on the control panel did. I love seeing how these activities bring out his creative side. Even though this is a preschool curriculum, the activities can be adapted for many age levels!
The boys loved the rocket ship twirler Make N Play activity. It was SO hard to wait for it to dry! Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures of them actually playing with it!
A lot of times we find awesome resources to expand our learning – here’s one of our favorites that goes along with this month’s theme.
The boys watch this episode of StoryBots all the time! It’s a super cute show that’s teaches kids about all the planets. This is how the boys learned all the planets in order! Boy was I surprised when Booger rattled them off perfectly the first time!
Thanks for stopping by! Next week we will be moving on to Mother Goose Time’s next monthly theme Ocean Commotion.
