We are so excited for this month’s Mother Goose Time preschool theme, Blast off to Space! The first week included the daily themes of, stars, sun, moon, astronomers, and comets. We learned about space objects that can be seen from the earth and why the sun is so important.
We learned about constellations and made our own twinkly little stars. Then we went outside to pretend we were astronomers. The boys used their homemade telescopes to see what we could observe in the sky during the day, then they had some imaginary play time. They were pretending to be astronauts on the moon looking back at the Earth. Haley, the big white space dog, even helped out with the mission!
The boys had fun making sun masks – I love how the each interpreted the activity differently!
One of Booger’s favorite activities is still the monthly theme poster and the I Spy magnifying glasses. This month’s poster is so cute too!
We even tested our homemade telescopes in the dark! We used Monkey’s planetarium projector to spend some time observing the planets we will be learning about in the next few weeks.
Thanks for stopping by! Next week we will be learning about the “rock planets.”
