Have you been working on planning out the new school year all summer?
Do you have detailed lesson plans to get you through the next few months?
No?? Good, me neither! (If you answered “yes” to any of those questions, we can’t be friends… just kidding! I need friends like you to do all the research for me ahead of time!)
Ok, so not only am I NOT a planner, I’m also not a “label” person – we don’t fit into boxes very well… but if I had to define our homeschool style, I’d say that we lean pretty heavily in the child-led/unschool direction, but I definitely have a few “required” daily subjects.
We also “do school” year round and don’t take the summer off. So here’s how I actually plan out our year – if I can get it for free or it has a free trial, we’ll try it out. Then we can keep using only what works and ditch anything that doesn’t. The curriculum we are using is constantly changing!
Here are 10 of our current favorites – these are either completely free or have a free version/free trial.
