This month’s theme will always be special to me – this is the first Mother Goose Time theme we used three years ago! So much has changed for us and it has been fun to experience the activities together again.
Our favorite activity this week was the Saltwater Art Invitation to Create. The boys love anything that has to do with paint, but when they saw the droppers, they just about lost their minds!
I gave them a few different shades of green and blue water color paints and let them have at it! At first, they were both pretty controlled, sprinkling their papers with water droplets.
And then the floodgates opened! They discovered that they could make really cool designs by tilting their trays and letting the water flow across the paper. At one point, Booger was using 2 droppers at once! And this was before I gave them the salt 🙂
Monkey decided to give his piece just a sprinkling of salt. Booger opted for mounds of salt in some of the pooled paint areas. He loved watching the salt suck up some of the extra water and change colors.
And here they are dried! It took a few days for them to dry fully, but I think they turned out wonderfully! Booger couldn’t resist picking off a couple of the larger salt mounds – it left a quite interesting texture.
Thanks for stopping by! Next week we will be learning about large sea creatures.
