With our last week of Mother Goose Time‘s At the Pond theme, we centered our activities around life at the pond.
Our daily topics included:
The boys enjoyed playing a snail themed word family game. This particular game was perfect for Monkey to practice recognizing the difference between b and d since both ‘dog’ and ‘bog’ were included on the game board. Booger is also getting the hang of blending sounds together to make a word. He knows some letter sounds, and with help he can blend l— og, l- og, log!
The math story cards were perfect this month as well. The challenge cards were a bit tricky for Monkey this time which is great. He was able to think through the story and make a plan for how he was going to solve the problem.
Our last pond themed make and play activity was a touch pond. We collected nature items from the yard, then added them to a zip top bag along with some fish shaped confetti. I was going to use clear gelatin to fill the bag, but found blue hair gel on sale at the store, so we used that instead. I added some duct tape to the top of the bag to help keep it sealed. Booger loves squishing it and making the fish swim!
Thanks for stopping by! Next week we will start Birds and Eggs. Hope to see you then!
