This week we learned about the rainforest’s canopy layer with Mother Goose Time‘s Rainforest Adventure preschool theme. We learned that the canopy layer is where many of the rainforest’s animals live. Sloths, snakes, dart frogs, and parrots live in the canopy layer.
Monkey helped Booger learn to recognize this month’s sight words by reading him the I Can Read story and using the sight word pointers to find the matching words in the book. We also played a build a snake game and pretended to be dart frogs.
Our favorite activity this week was when we hung upside down like sloths to draw! We used a picture of the Sistine Chapel as inspiration. Booger was drawn to the colors and used a variety of bright colors in his art. Monkey decided to do a self portrait with the sun behind him.
Thanks for stopping by! Next week we will learn about the rainforest’s emergent layer!
