This week we kicked off a new month and a new Mother Goose Time preschool theme. For the month of November, we will be on a Rainforest Adventure! We will learn about the rainforest layer by layer, starting with the rainforest floor layer.
This week we learned that the forest floor is the dark and damp bottom layer of the rainforest. We learned that jaguars and leaf cutter ants make their home in the forest floor and roots, mushrooms and lily pads (the leaf of the lotus flower) grow there. Monkey drew a picture of himself in the rainforest with his jaguar friend for the cover of this month’s My Little Journal. I love seeing how his drawings evolve each month!
The boys enjoyed using this month’s shape manipulatives to create different plant designs. We also made cute jaguars out of the letter J. It was so much fun!
Thanks for stopping by! Next week we move up a layer in the rainforest to the understory layer!
