For week two of Mother Goose Time‘s Rainforest Adventure theme, we learned about the rainforest understory layer. We learned that the understory layer of the rainforest is home to animals such as monkeys, praying mantises, and geckos. Small trees and bushes grow grow in this layer, including orchids and cocoa trees.
This week the boys had so much fun making animal masks. Monkey is in character as a praying mantis, so he would only look at the camera with his mantis eyes. 😛
For our invitation to create, we learned about Aboriginal dot art and made our own version on paper geckos.
We had so much fun learning the 5 little monkeys song and playing with the monkeys and their vine. Monkey really likes when he gets to be the teacher’s helper and held the vine while Booger hung up the monkeys.
Thanks for stopping by! Next week we are going to learn about the Rainforest Canopy Layer.
