How We Used Our Thin Stix Creativity Pack
We tested the Creativity Pack on wooden Halloween decorations and paper maché boxes.
The boys were so excited about the new colors! Booger LOVED the “sparkly dark blue that’s so so shiny and sparkly.” Thin Stix function very much the same as markers and go on fairly smoothly. If you press really hard and end up with globs of paint, it takes a bit longer to dry completely, but at least you don’t need to worry about drips or runs!
Booger accidentally painted the table a few times, but I was able to wipe it up easily with a baby wipe. So much easier than regular paints!
We ended up with a couple really cool spiders!
We also used the Creativity pack to create some cute monster characters with paper maché boxes. With this project we learned that we could use our fingers to help spread the paint before it dried. This really came in handy when trying to cover a larger surface. Once the paint dried a bit, it would rub off a little, but if we waited for it to dry completely, we could go over it with another layer of paint and it would cover just fine. As you can see from the pictures, our purple monster could use another coat of paint, but Monkey decided he liked the way it looked. The large box monster has a different color on each side and two faces, so you can turn the lid to create different characters. I really love how creative Monkey got with this project! Booger decided to put the eyes inside on of his boxes, because his monster was shy (how cute is that?!?).
Monkey’s review: “They are really cool! They are like markers with hard paint inside, but when you rub them on your project the paint gets softer and it goes on really good. I really liked the metalix colors – the gold and silver were my favorite. There is nothing I don’t like about the Thin Stix!”
Booger’s review: “The colors make a rainbow and rainbows make me happy!”
The Creativity Pack did not disappoint! The boys loved the variety of colors and the ease of use. I loved that set up and clean up was so easy! The Metalix and Neon colors were definitely the favorites in this set and even with extensive use, we still have plenty paint left for more projects. Thin Stix would make a great gift for any little artist!
