For week two of Mother Goose Time‘s Winter Wonderland preschool theme we learned about the Alpine Tundra. We learned that the Alpine Tundra ecosystem is found in mountain areas starting at elevations around 11,000 feet. Plants and animals in this ecosystem have adapted to living in the harsh climate.
The boys made hiking maps based on a path we created to get from one side of the room to the other. Monkey added landmarks to his map and then decided to hide in a secret treasure. 🙂
We used different size/color triangle cut outs to create a pattern forest. After copying the pattern strips, they continued the activity by creating their own patterns and using the triangles to create alternative shapes.
We also played a fun math game while helping Booger practice his counting.
Thanks for stopping by! Next week we will be learning about Tundra Animals.
