December’s Mother Goose Time theme is Winter in the Woods. There are SO many fun themed days this month!
We decided to take things bit out of order this month to fit our MGT activities into our holiday plans for the month, so we started with Week 4 and made graham cracker log cabins and gingerbread houses with our extended family.
I love how we all used the same supplies but came up with such different houses! Monkey decided his was a worm house and took great care to make sure his worms were happy with their living quarters.
After adding a few too many worms and having his house collapse, he decided to use the opportunity to practice his “chef-ing skills” again and served us all graham crackers with frosting and as many toppings as he could fit. We were all suffering from a sugar high after eating his treats!
This week I also moved my Circle Time display (again!). It started on a wall, but then we didn’t use it. So I set it up on an easel, but then it was always in the way. This time, I think I’ve got it in the perfect spot – on the fridge!
I put magnets on the back of the shape clouds, number fish and goslings so they can move about the fridge freely. In fact, as I type this Booger is hiding the goslings behind the theme poster and having Mother Goose search for them. I don’t know why I didn’t think of this sooner!
Thanks for stopping by! Join us next week as we continue our adventure with Winter in the Woods.
