Our last week with the Mother Goose Time Winter in the Woods theme focused on Winter Gear. Now this is a bit of a foreign concept for us here in Southern California. I mean, we own jackets, but they get worn maybe twice a year as protection from rain, not cold. The boys received mittens and warm hats as a Christmas gift, but they are worn for 5 minutes as part of imaginary play. Even on our coldest days, a sweatshirt is more than sufficient.
The boys were fascinated by the idea of snowshoes. Although, Booger insisted his were ice skates rather than snowshoes. They couldn’t wait to test them out in the yard.
The boys also “sewed” mittens that were then used to hold a matching card game. It’s always so interesting to see how they both approach the same project in different ways.
Usually Monkey will pick one of the I Can Read books (I save them each month) and will read to us. This time, Booger decided he was going to read to us. I was surprised that he had this month’s book memorized almost word for word! It was so cute watching him “read.”
Thanks for stopping by! Join us again next week when we start next month’s theme, Baby Animals.
