This month we have done our Mother Goose Time lessons a bit out of order to accommodate the holidays and other activities we had planned. I am so glad I saved the pine tree lesson for after Christmas because Santa brought us grow your own Christmas tree kits that fit perfectly with the pine tree life cycle activity.
That black dot on my hand is a spruce tree seed – smaller than I expected it to be! Hopefully, at least one of the seeds will sprout and we will be able to follow its growth. This activity was also great cutting practice for Booger. He can’t cut on the lines yet, but he had a blast cutting “pine needles” into the sides of the tree shapes.
The Snowman Snack was also a big hit this week. Ours didn’t really look much like snowmen since we used bagels rather than rice cakes, but it was a treat none the less!
Thanks for stopping by! Join us again next week as we finish out Winter in the Woods by learning about winter gear.
